Hair Removal

Safe and effective, lasers offer a great opportunity to enjoy long-term hair removal. They work by focusing high-intensity pulses of light deep into the dermis where they are absorbed by the darker pigment of the hair follicle. In a series of treatments, follicles are minimized gradually producing finer and finer hair shafts until they are virtually undetectable. Two of our lasers are used for this procedure. The GentleLASE, Alexandrite laser delivers a shorter, more powerful wavelength and is excellent for hair removal on patients with light skin tones. The GentleYAG laser, with a slightly longer wavelength, is used on patients with darker skin.

As hair removal is based on energy absorption by pigmented structures, unfortunately this procedure is not effective on areas with blonde or grey hair.
